Title : Haptic Sensation and Consumer Behaviour : The Influence of Tactile Stimulation in Physical and Online Environments Material Type: E-book Authors: Margot RACAT ; Sonia CAPELLI Publisher: New York : PALGRAVE MACMILLAN Publication Date: 2020 Pagination: 137 p. CONSUMER BEHAVIORAbstract: This book offers an overview of haptic sensation and its influence on consumers' behaviour, especially in dual and mediated environments where products are accessible through an interface. After almost three decades, marketers have reached a critical understanding of the importance of consumers' senses to the processing of brands, products and advertising information. Since the development of the internet, however, there have been questions as to how markets and consumers can reach out to products in different environments. Recent advances in technologies allow sensations to render or stimulate physical sensations similar to the handling of the same product. These emerging possibilities question the way consumers are and will be able to feel a product according to the reality it relies on. The book begins by defining and discussing haptic consumption, before introducing the challenge of appealing to consumers' senses in the digital age and examining how marketing managers have overcome this tangible barrier to date. The authors go on to further investigate the role of interfaces in rendering tactile sensations, with a particular focus on technological innovations. Finally, the book presents the authors' original research in the field and offers a prospective vision of consumption for the coming years. ENERGY TRANSITION ; SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ; ECOLOGY ; HUMAN AND SOCIAL SCIENCESAbstract: This textbook introduces the key concepts that underpin sustainable energy transitions. Starting with the basic biophysical principles, current sources and environmental consequences of existing energy resource use, the book takes readers through the key questions and topics needed to understand, prescribe, and advocate just and sustainable energy solutions.
The interdisciplinary nature of the book aims to build bridges across the social and natural sciences and humanities, bringing together perspectives, ideas and concepts from engineering, economics, and life cycle assessment to sociology, political science, anthropology, policy studies, the humanities, arts, and some interdisciplinary thinkers that defy categories. This accessible approach fills the gap for a textbook that integrates sustainability science and engineering studies with strong empirical social science and it will be a useful tool to anyone interested in the socio-ecological dimensions of energy system transitions.Nombre d'accès : 1 Link for e-copy: http://www.vlebooks.com/vleweb/product/openreader?id=Neoma&accId=9169105&isbn=97 [...] Record link: https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=535254

BANK ; INVESTMENT CAPITAL ; INTEREST RATEAbstract: The traditional role of a bank was to transfer funds from savers to investors, engaging in maturity transformation, screening for borrower risk and monitoring for borrower effort in doing so. A typical loan contract was set up along six simple dimensions: the amount, the interest rate, the expected credit risk (determining both the probability of default for the loan and the expected loss given default), the required collateral, the currency, and the lending technology. However, the modern banking industry today has a broad scope, offering a range of sophisticated financial products, a wider geography -- including exposure to countries with various currencies, regulation and monetary policy regimes -- and an increased reliance on financial innovation and technology. These new bank business models have had repercussions on the loan contract. In particular, the main components and risks of a loan contract can now be hedged on the market, by means of interest rate swaps, foreign exchange transactions, credit default swaps and securitization. Securitized loans can often be pledged as collateral, thus facilitating new lending. And the lending technology is evolving from one-to-one meetings between a loan officer and a borrower, at a bank branch, towards potentially disruptive technologies such as peer-to-peer lending, crowd funding or digital wallet services.
