Résumé : |
This thesis aims at detailing a new phenomenon whose scope has greatly increased over these last years: Crowdlending. This particular form of Crowdfunding belongs to a generic term: Alternative Finance. the real potential of this new phenomenon remains in its integration with other activities related to finance. Crowdlending and banks are not opposed but show great complementarities: especially for funding certain type of needs. Crowdlending attracts not only banks but also Hedge Funds or Asset Managers. They see in this new class of assets very high return rates, a way of diversifying their investments and a great potentiality for securitization. Nonetheless, regulation will need to change in order to protect consumers and to avoid reproducing what happened with subprime. Crowdlending platforms, among other FinTechs actors, represent a viable way for banks to enter fully into the digital economy. Through partnerships, direct acquisitions, developments of incubators etc. banks are starting to heavily invest in those actors. |
