The author has decided to focus on the two main financial areas Microsoft Azure think their Blockchain services may have a positive impact on: trade finance and commercial insurance. In order to have a better view on how Azure Blockchain services try and meet the new needs of financial structures and insurance companies, the author has begun with an insight of the current state of financial services Microsoft’s blockchain’s services aim to deal with and what issues should be tackled or rethought, before comparing the different ledgers provided by Azure Blockchain services with each other as well as comparing Blockchain on Azure to Blockchain services existing on other platforms. I ended presenting which concrete solutions Blockchain can offer to finance such as the risk management, cost reduction, real-time visibility, especially in marine insurance, and smart contracts. Azure blockchain seems to leverage more Blockchain solutions that are easily accessible and applicable to enterprise and financial entities. Microsoft might pave the way for all blockchain future innovations.
