CONCURRENCE ; MONNAIE ; MONNAIE ELECTRONIQUE ; TECHNOLOGIE DE RUPTURERésumé : My thought process for this paper began in March 2019, with the reading of two articles, one of Global Coin report of August 28, 2018 and the other of Coinist in which the authors define factors of success of the ICO . The Global Coin article states that a study was conducted by an intelligence company under the name Singularex; this study covered 1200 ICOs over the last three years. The purpose of this analysis was to reduce to 4 the 100 different factors that could have influenced the performance of an ICO. The variants are as follows: the popularity of the ICO site; its activity on Github (Github is a site that identifies potential ICOs using their code and was used by most experienced investors); the distribution of tokens (considering that the average was between 43% and 79 and the community). This article thus raised many important aspects that one would find in other journals. The second article, that of Coinist as for it, besides raising the variants of success of the ICOs also dwells on the elements likely to be at the origin of the failures of the ICOs. It should also be noted that in addition to the success stories mentioned in the first article, the cap. A rather quantitative data that could give more details to potential investors. Novice in the world of cryptocurrency, I remained unresolved at the end of these articles to ask me many questions. Why the concept of cap is really important? Is this a factor that could influence the performance of an ICO? Why do some promoters of ICOs not use it? How is it calculated? Is there a slice specific to each sector? Some quick searches on the Internet allowed me to define the concept of heading in an ICO, the precision in fixing this variant was not clearly specified in the articles and journals I consulted. The methods that seemed the most interactive were to read articles to understand the concept of heading and also to extract ICOs that were listed in an Excel document, and that was made available to me by the supervisor. So my extraction involved about thirty capped ICO and twenty uncapped ICOs. The purpose of this analysis was to show whether the success of an ICO is determined or not by setting its cap.
The difficulties were based on the fact that the subject was all unknown to me from the start, the information needed to complete the table was not easy to find and the concept of cap was not as familiar to the general public to proceed to a questionnaire. However the results of my analysis stipulate that the cap is a numerical variant that allows to locate the investor and the issuer itself on its objectives but this data alone is not enough to say that the performance of an ICO depends on whether it is capped or uncapped. In both situations, there are both successful and failed ICOs. Nevertheless, it is an element that is associated with several other factors that could constitute a performance criterion of an ICO.Note de contenu : PGE: Bibliogr.P.19 Programme : PGE-Rouen Spécialisation : Finance d’Entreprise - Corporate Finance Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=496377
