United nations global impact reports a company’s supply chain can make a significant impact in promoting environmental progress. The tightening regulations on environment by governments will not only force the businesses to adapt to green technologies but also put their survival in question if they fail to make this transition.This paper intends to research how horizontal collaboration can fast pace the process of making supply chains greener. The editorial published (Transport reasearch part E, 2015 )on green supply chain collaboration and incentives states ‘green supply chain collaboration would lead to green benefits for the focal company which cannot be realized immediately and normally considered as a long-term effect.’ In this paper we will to explore ways in which horizontal collaboration can shorten this long-term effect process through various case studies. This paper will contribute to organizations in adapting to greener technologies through horizontal collaboration.
