In one day, Volkswagen's share price fell by 17.14% and its market capitalization dropped by 15 billion euros. The multinational company recovered its previous value and exceeded the 100-billion-euros market capitalization again only in March 2021.That day, all portfolio managers holding Volkswagen shares in their portfolio lost a lot. Can we prevent these kinds of scandals? After explaining how and why SRI has developed, this seminar paper will focus on the different ways SRI is applied in asset management for listed assets.
