Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Management ENVIRONNEMENT ; FRANCE ; SPORT Résumé : 2 years ahead from the next edition of the Summer Olympic Games which will take place in Paris 2024, sustainability concerns are rising while the Organizing Committee is trying to reassure through the communication on their “Environmental Excellence”. Actually, they promised to be the first Olympic Games aligned on the Paris Agreement on climate and thus, to have a positive contribution for climate. The purpose of my study is to understand and analyze how the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 is going to keep up with this promise. This paper has explored the relationship between sustainability and the Olympic Movement over time. Then, the potential environmental damages that Olympic Games can have been exposed before investigating the promises made by the OCOG in the bid document in 2016. The qualitative research carried out through interviews enabled us to understand the justifications for the sustainable strategy and the key decisions and actions that have been already made in order to achieve the positive contribution for the climate. Finally, we pointed out that efforts have to be made on the awareness of the Olympic Games and the communication about all the methods of Paris 2024 in order to keep up with their promises.
