Many studies have analyzed the relationship between them and yet had different arguments. For the Vietnam situation, the "handshake" of the fintech companies and commercial banks is vital to change the traditional financial services. This study analyzes the effect that the current relationship between fintech companies and banks has on their performance. This research used the qualitative method with the in-depth interviews and focus groups approached by interviewing six experts from commercial banks, fintech companies, and a financial advisory firm. The aim is to understand the partnership's impact on performance through the views of stakeholders. The research findings reveal a positive effect on the operating performance, the advantages and disadvantages faced in the partnership, and the challenge that commercial banks confront in dealing with the growth of fintech companies. From this, readers will learn about the influence of the fintech companies and commercial banks in partner relationships under the circumstance of the Vietnam situation.
