This seminar paper will examine the origins and consequences of the automotive crisis, a sector hard hit by one of the worst crises in its history.
The main problem of this crisis resulting from the shortage of semiconductors, an essential component in the production process of vehicles, it is in particular the relationship between car brands and semiconductor suppliers that will be discussed throughout this study. Paralysed in a relationship of dependence on its semiconductor suppliers, this study will put forward a number of hypothetical solutions to reduce this dependence. It will be constructed through two strategies: one aiming to do without suppliers totally or partially (offensive strategy) and the other aiming to improve the customer-supplier relationship (defensive strategy). The purpose of this study, which will draw on a number of resources, will be to test the viability and feasibility of the solutions put forward. We will see in conclusion that if some of the proposed solutions are not feasible, some seem convincing and give food for thought. |
