It delivers authentic and valuable data to the industry because of its increased visibility and product traceability, which makes supply chains more responsive and robust to market upheavals. Due to significant demand volatility, long supply lead times, and limited selling seasons, Fashion Retailers, struggle to manage supply and demand trends. Firms place orders in advance of the selling season while initial demand forecasts are highly inaccurate due to the unpredictable nature of consumer preferences and constantly changing market trends. Simultaneously, as the selling season approaches, more demand information becomes accessible, and uncertainty reduces. Though, it becomes sometimes hard for companies to react as their responsiveness is not at its optimum. If the company is in Europe for instance, most suppliers are in Asia. Once a season starts it appears to be hard for the retailer to show reactivity and replace or shorten a batch ordered. Such situation brings either shortages or overstocks during the sales season. Both situations bring loss to the company and affect its profit. The Newsvendor model is a pioneering and iconic approach in inventory management; It looks at a single-period situation with unpredictable demand. It aims to optimize stock management processes and ensure maximized profit.A mathematical model has been developed by a group of researchers that addresses a Blockchain-enabled Newsvendor model for periodic, seasonal products such as fashion items or alimentation products, happening to be efficient and appliable. This work will indeed address the implementation of the BTC, its features and advantages, the potential and existent solutions owners. Then, the retailers’ opinions on the solution, its immediate and long-term consequences, limits, and potential combinations as extensionfigures.
