Résumé : |
Formula 1 is a world-famous sport with a proven technical level. The drivers drive vehicles at speeds of over 300km/h to perfection for more than an hour and a half of racing
time. Teams are constantly looking for new techniques to make a difference on the track against their competitors. The emergence of Big Data and various data analysis techniques
have opened the way to a new approach to Formula 1. The data acquired on the race cars allows the teams to have a live understanding of the state of the car and a posteriori to be able to carry out models allowing to refine the strategies. Data analysis in Formula 1 has redefined the notion of performance, which is no longer directly correlated with the driver. Furthermore, it also questions the decision-making process in the sport, which is no longer as well defined as it was before this new era. Qualitative research was carried out in order to exchange with direct actors of this sport and thus to understand the various stakes of their roles and to perceive how the notion of performance and decision making has metamorphosed with data analysis in Formula 1. |
