With the rise of digital currency and the development of blockchain technology, more and more countries have begun to research and develop central bank digital currency. As a new type of digital currency, CBDC has many advantages, such as improving payment efficiency, reducing payment costs, and promoting financial inclusion. At the same time, CBDC can also improve the flexibility of monetary policy and promote the application of anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing. However, CBDC also has some disadvantages, such as technical risks, security risks, privacy protection, competition issues, etc. This article will explore the advantages and disadvantages of a CBDC based on blockchain technology and examine whether the issuance of a CBDC will have an impact on fintech companies.
