HAUTE TECHNOLOGIE ; INDE ; LIVRAISON ; LOGISTIQUERésumé : Recently, Last-Mile delivery had a huge impact due to pandemic situations. Presently, there is rapid growth of e-commerce around the globe. In India, the overall e-commerce has increased around 36% of last year. Thus, implementation of advanced technologies can impact the ongoing methods of last mile.
New technologies have the tendency to enhance last-mile delivery, perhaps leading to an altogether new transportation method and commercial delivery models.
Nowadays in India there are focusing on Local distribution centres setup, which will be useful for the local retailers to deliver to the local customers. To meet the problems of city last-mile fulfilment, businesses may explore monetization strategies that excel in areas such as cost-effectiveness, service quality, and sustainability. Furthermore, while a variety of articles explore possibilities in last-mile, metropolitan last mile distribution techniques targeted specifically to developing economies were sometimes covered in the existing ecommerce supply chain and city logistics literature.
Thus, this paper aims to determine whether the last-mile delivery in India is adaptable, and the research will also include the insights of the logistics team as well as R&D team, regarding the advanced technology delivery.Programme : MSc Supply Chain Management Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=538552 Conditions of Last-Mile Delivery in Low-Income Areas / Julien SAASOUH / 2021

CHINE ; LIVRAISONRésumé : The lack of infrastructures and the difficulties related to the last-mile delivery often dissuade companies from delivering to low-income communities situated in remote areas. We discuss the assumption that an effective last-mile delivery necessarily entails large infrastructures and hubs and explore alternative models proposed in the literature. Our focus is not only in building an effective supply-chain but also a sustainable one, empowering the communities it serves. Most solutions that we explore are based on sharing resources, whether it is facilities shared by multiple companies or even the deliveries themselves. We then compare the findings of our research with what has effectively been put in place by Taobao in serving rural China. This case study proves that companies do not have to wait for large investments to be made in order to begin serving BOP communities; on the contrary, it is companies that have the ability to show the potential in these communities, allowing them to develop and pushing governments to pay closer attention to their skills.
Programme : Cesem Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=536324 Logistics in French rural areas: potential for improvements / Gauthier RITTER / 2021

ZONE RURALE ; CHAINE LOGISTIQUE ; LIVRAISONRésumé : Rural delivery, especially in remote areas, comes with a lot of issues and challenges, but it has not raised as much interest as urban delivery. Yet, rural areas still account for at least 3.4 billion people and therefore represent significant opportunities of niche markets. Delivering in such places is more challenging than in any urban places as there are some geographical and demographical specificities that result in significant last-mile costs and many obstacles to settle a proper delivery system. In my dissertation I will wonder how to bring decent delivery services to people living in such areas. Therefore, I will try and answer the following question: how to improve delivery in French rural places? This question will hopefully be answered through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data that I will consider in the light of the current scientific literature on this topic.
