STATISTIQUERésumé : Business Analytics: Communicating with Numbers was written from the ground up to prepare students to understand, manage, and visualize the data, apply the appropriate tools, and communicate the findings and their relevance. Unlike other texts that simply repackage statistics and traditional operations research topics, this text seamlessly threads the topics of data wrangling, descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics into a cohesive whole. It provides a holistic analytics process, including dealing with real life data that are not necessarily 'clean' and/or 'small' and stresses the importance of effectively communicating findings by including features such as a synopsis (a short writing sample) and a sample report (a longer writing sample) in every chapter. These features help students develop skills in articulating the business value of analytics by communicating insights gained from a non-technical standpoint. RECHERCHE ; STATISTIQUERésumé : Acclaimed for its thorough presentation of mediation, moderation, and conditional process analysis, this book has been updated to reflect the latest developments in PROCESS for SPSS, SAS, and, new to this edition, R. Using the principles of ordinary least squares regression, Andrew F. Hayes illustrates each step in an analysis using diverse examples from published studies, and displays SPSS, SAS, and R code for each example. Procedures are outlined for estimating and interpreting direct, indirect, and conditional effects; probing and visualizing interactions; testing hypotheses about the moderation of mechanisms; and reporting different types of analyses. Readers gain an understanding of the link between statistics and causality, as well as what the data are telling them. The companion website (www.afhayes.com) provides data for all the examples, plus the free PROCESS download. New to This Edition *Rewritten Appendix A, which provides the only documentation of PROCESS, including a discussion of the syntax structure of PROCESS for R compared to SPSS and SAS. *Expanded discussion of effect scaling and the difference between unstandardized, completely standardized, and partially standardized effects. *Discussion of the meaning of and how to generate the correlation between mediator residuals in a multiple-mediator model, using a new PROCESS option. *Discussion of a method for comparing the strength of two specific indirect effects that are different in sign. *Introduction of a bootstrap-based Johnson-Neyman-like approach for probing moderation of mediation in a conditional process model. FUSION ACQUISITION ; RATIO FINANCIER ; STATISTIQUERésumé : In a globalised economy where the competition is increasingly fierce, Mergers & Acquisitions not only become a critical element for the development of companies but also more complicated to evaluate. This dissertation aims to determine if this is possible to determine the success or the failure of Mergers & Acquisitions analysing the performance of the companies. The majority of studies focus on a specific country to scrutinize these complex operations basing their investigations on a couple of indicators only. A minority of them investigated operations that occurred in the 2010s. That is the reason why our analysis is conducted on thirty-one European companies acquired in 2015 or 2016 and uses eight accounting metrics. Our findings show that Mergers & Acquisitions slightly deteriorate the operational performance of the target companies, but the results were highly statistically non-significant. It is therefore not possible to evaluate the success or the failure of Mergers & Acquisitions.
