TECHNOLOGIE DE RUPTURE ; CONCURRENCE ; INVESTISSEMENTRésumé : During the past year, the cryptocurrency market has witnessed 12531 Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and has raised more than seven billion dollars in a single year. Compared to 2014, when the first ICO’s took place, it is an increase of almost 500%. Those incredible numbers show us how important the cryptocurrency market is getting and how it can become the future of financing strategies. And we only need to go a few months back to witness one of Europe’s most important banks, Société Générale2, issuing its first covered bond as a security token on a public blockchain.Indeed, Initial Coin Offerings are becoming a subject of urgent matter and the lack of documentation available around the subject makes it difficult for investors to take investment based on relevant data. We often see ICO’s evaluated through their “hype” in social medial such as Telegram or Twitter, but such variables do not guarantee the performance of the ICO and eventually a positive return to the investor. Because at the end of the day, the investor’s interest is to make return from his investment, and this is the angle we will approach ICO’s from through this paper. We will study Initial Coin Offerings from the performance angle and try to figure out their characteristics in order to help the investor’s decision. What are the characteristics that make an ICO successful, and what are the ones making it a complete failure? Is there any common characteristics between the successful ICO’s and the less successful ones? Are the Initial Coin Offerings a viable option for financing strategies? Can they replace traditional financing strategies on the long term? We will try to answer all these questions through this paper and come out with significant data that can help with the investment decision. OFFRE ; DEMANDE ; CHAINE LOGISTIQUEIndex. décimale : 141.34 CHAINE LOGISTIQUE Résumé : The book demands rigorous analysis on the part of students without requiring consistent use of sophisticated mathematical modeling to perform it. When the use of quantitative tools or formal modeling is indicated, it is only to perform the necessary analysis needed to inform and support a practical business solution. The guiding principle in the development of Matching Supply with Demand has been “real operations, real solutions.” “Real operations” means that most of the chapters in this book are written from the perspective of a specific company so that the material in this text will come to life by discussing it in a real-world context. “Real solutions” means that equations and models do not merely provide students with mathematical gymnastics for the sake of an intellectual exercise.
