LIBERALISME ECONOMIQUE ; ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE ; FINANCE DE MARCHE ; GROUPE DE PRESSIONRésumé : American markets, once a model for the world, are giving up on competition. Thomas Philippon blames the unchecked efforts of corporate lobbyists. Instead of earning profits by investing and innovating, powerful firms use political pressure to secure their advantages. The result is less efficient markets, leading to higher prices and lower wages. COMPTABILITE ; LIQUIDITE ; NATIONRésumé : The recent transition from cash accounting towards accrual accounting in most of the developed countries in Europe and North America has raised an important question about the reasons for choosing a method or another. Therefore, the research question of this paper is the following: is there any existing indicator which is a deciding factor in the choice of the accounting method? With a sample of 25 countries in Europe and North America, the analysis of 15 indicators has been made through the utilization of scatter plots and correlation coefficient. The investigation has unfortunately not lead to real conclusive results. However, an assumption can be made on the fact that current balance account, which represents the country’s international transactions with the other countries of the world, could play a role in the determination of the accounting method.
Furthermore, in order to deepen this assumption and intensify the investigation made in this paper, a larger sample could be used with other countries less similar to the ones used in the sample of this study. A sample with less developed countries, such as the BRIC or South America countries, could be useful to determine the factors playing a role in the decision of the accounting method. However, the data collection could be a problem in the expansion of this investigation to other countries.Note de contenu : Bibliogr. p.23-24 Programme : PGE-Reims Spécialisation : Finance d’Entreprise - Corporate Finance Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=484787 Brexit, President Trump, and the Changing Geopolitics of Eastern Europe / Theodor TUDOROIU / SPRINGER INTERNATIONAL PUBLISHING AG (2018)

ALLEMAGNE ; ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE ; EUROPE ; FRANCE ; POLITIQUE ECONOMIQUE ; POLITIQUE EXTERIEURE ; RELATIONS INTERNATIONALES ; ROYAUME UNI ; RUSSIE ; UNION EUROPEENNERésumé : This book analyzes the combined consequences of Brexit and of the new US foreign policy under President Trump on the geopolitical situation of Eastern Europe. It perceives the evolution of the East European regional security complex as a struggle between the European Union's Kantian, win-win geopolitical vision and Russia's neoclassical geopolitics, also promoted by President Trump. In the most probable scenario, the latter approach will have the upper hand. The EU's post-Brexit control by the Franco-German axis will likely be followed by the geopolitical irrelevance of the EU due to the renationalization of member states' foreign policy, with Germany becoming the main West European actor. Consequently, Eastern Europe will be turned into the arena of a mainly three-cornered neoclassical geopolitics rivalry opposing Russia, the Franco-German axis and then Germany, and the US in alliance with the post-Brexit UK and certain East European states. The book will appeal to scholars across the fields of International Relations, Geopolitics, European Studies, and Area Studies.
Note de contenu : Bibliogr. p.63-68 Programme : Cesem Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=423269
