SPORT ; FINANCEMENT ; BUDGETRésumé : Nowadays, hosting an international event is an opportunity for many cities to develop and exist on an international level. Hosting an event such as a World Cup or the Olympic Games also gives a city a decisive advantage over its competitors. The Games, whether in summer or winter, are therefore a fabulous springboard given their international scope. Broadcast around the world and with a global audience of over 3 billion people worldwide for the last Tokyo Games and over 2 billion for the Beijing 2022 Winter Games. Host cities can also take advantage of such an event to obtain economic spin-offs and accelerate the development of their city, particularly in terms of infrastructure, and attract more
tourists at the same time. In 2016, with the Rio Games, the IOC opened the door to cities from the southern hemisphere. These cities have the opportunity to close the gap with cities in the northern hemisphere.Programme : MSc International Project Development Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=581909 Climate change and private equity in MENA / Leïla WENNER / 2022

ENVIRONNEMENT ; CAPITAL INVESTISSEMENTRésumé : Private Equity seems to be the best mean to implement changes and is the first investment tool to reflect the current society’s burdens. Indeed, possibility is given to investors to concentrate on some companies and choose them according to their activity and their sector; it is then possible to invest in multiple sectors like renewable energies, healthcare, agriculture, or even education to optimize their overall impact. In parallel, the horizon of such investment enables investors to observe and measure these companies after investment. However, a few obstacles might hinder the MENA governments to implement sustainable changes although efforts have increasingly been made over the years. Other sectors are still overrepresented to SRI ones, since there is still a common belief that investors must choose between impact financing and financial results, while the unstable context could represent additional risk for investors. Moreover, both lack of common standards for SRI and tools to measure it, as well as the lack of consensus within MENA but also worldwide hamper the implementation of clear strategy within PE funds. Yet, responsible investing is even more required of companies by stakeholders and limited partners in PE
funds. Indeed, activist funds are expected to be even more present on the sector to implement and promote sustainable changes.Programme : PGE-Reims Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=571600 How can alternative financing solutions help French SMEs save, sustain, or grow their businesses? / Hugo THOMELIN / 2022

FINANCEMENT ; FRANCE ; PERFORMANCE ; SMERésumé : The choice of a financing method for a company and its capital structure is today a central element of the life cycle and of the strategic decision-making process. This study has highlighted a trend that tends towards the multiplication of financing offers to meet the varied needs of SMEs and French companies.Traditional financing by equity or bank loan, established for many years as a sine qua none condition for the good development of a company is today questioned by technological actors, start-ups, andentrepreneurs. The significant changes in the macroeconomic context greatly favor the emergence of alternative solutions and benefit from the particular interest of all the usual stakeholders: major institutions, regulatory entities, and business confederations.Alternative financing brings together several disruptive solutions, both technological and digital, which bring a new dynamic to the secular banking industry. The offers are being put in place today and are gradually meeting their potential customers over time, nevertheless, the shares of bank loans in France remain by far very high thanks to the excellent organization of the French banking network. Most of the credits requested are granted and the need, quantified via Credit Gap, is only very low in France.Nevertheless, it is important to recognize that these alternative financing solutions have real added value in other, often less developed, regions of the world, and make it possible to finance the real local economy effectively and sustainably. In France, alternative financing is therefore a buoyant market in full growth, in the process of being organized, which can greatly benefit French SMEs by stimulating the financing market thanks to the entry of competition, meeting specific needs not covered by the establishments of loans, and finally to offer tailor-made offers to French entrepreneurs and SMEs.The lasting effects of the recent health crisis have yet to be studied on the evolution of the use of alternative financing methods, nevertheless, we are able to recognize that a profound change in the economic context is pushing us to rethink the sources, the methods of access to financing and interlocutors. GARANTIE ; FINANCEMENT ; EMPRUNT ; EQUITERésumé : This research paper highlights the impact of the choice of public-private partnership contract types on the capital structure of Project Finance. In this study, we will consider only five types of Public–private partnership between the private sector and public actors and 2 main financing modes (debt financing or equity financing). In other words, we will study the impact of several quantitative and qualitative variables on the choice of financing and the constitution of the capital structure of infrastructure projects in the world and more precisely in developing countries over a period from 1997 to 2019.During the last semester of my studies at NEOMA, I had the opportunity to conduct an empirical study, based on research, observation, and experience. It is necessary to specify that this study is intended to understand the effects of the choice of partnership contracts on
infrastructure Project Finance on the choice of financing by states and private companies. We will therefore use the linear regression method, to measure the relationships between
sectors, type of contract, regions, countries, and the constitution of the capital structure. This will also allow us to address the potential financial and economic risks on states and private firms that engage in the financing of these large infrastructure projects and how they can reduce these risks by focusing on the legal and financial forms in project finance.Programme : PGE-Reims Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=571591 The Relationship Between Corporate Governance and Cash Holdings in the Chinese Stock Markets / Jingwen TANG / 2022

BOURSE DES VALEURS ; CHINE ; GOUVERNANCE DE L'ENTREPRISE ; LIQUIDITE ; RELATIONRésumé : Managing cash reserve levels has been a tricky question for firms to trying to find a trade-off between benefits and costs that works the best for their favors. Having more cash available means that the firms are open to more future growth and investment opportunities, capital expenditure and R&D,and to deal with seasonal or cyclical volatility of cash flows. The importance of corporate governance has on the value creation and long-term management of the firm has seized more and more attention.Current studies have shown that corporate governance has played an important role in determining the ,level of cash holdings those corporates have. Dittmar & Mahrt-Smith (2007) and Harford et al., (2012)
both show that firms with weaker corporate governance tend to have higher levels of cash holdings in 45 countries. However, those studies did not dig deep enough to capture the cross-sectional variation on the firm-level corporate governance and its relationships with cash holdings. Therefore, this unanswered question lays the foundation of the hypothesis, in which it examines on the firm-level basis if various attributes of corporate governance have any kinds of relationship with levels of cash holdings. To extend this hypothesis a bit further, this paper also examines if this implied nature of corporate governance andlevel of cash holdings combined together have a material effect on the value of firm especially in Chinese stock markets. Most of the studies on corporate governance focus on western stock markets.Chinese stock markets are much less discussed. After comprehensive study of Chinese listed companies’ cash levels and its attributes of corporate governance, I found that firms with weaker corporate governance, i.e. CEO-Chairman duality, large board size, small proportion of independent directors in audit committee and whether thecompany is family controlled, tend to develop a more conservative corporate cash policy meaning that they have more cash reserves. Shareholders tend to react negatively to excess cash holdings due to thepossibility of managerial entrenchment.Programme : MSc Corporate Finance Permalink : https://cataloguelibrary.neoma-bs.fr/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=568530 Between Private Equity, Risk-free Investment, and Traditional Stocks, What Have We Learned from SPACs, and Who Are They Best For?
