Résumé : |
Thus, how could we improve the accuracy of the standard multiples valuation method? We will try to develop a practical guide for this method, highlighting the areas of risk and providing further possible improvements developed by both academics and practitioners. As this method is based on four steps: selection of the value-driver and the multiple (1), identification of the peer group (2), estimation of the synthetic peer group multiple (3) and the calculation of the value (4), those topics will be developed separately. The first part of this seminar paper will focus on the global areas of risk of the method and the identification of the accurate value-drivers. The second part will be based on the best practices to identify a relevant a peer group and compute a synthetic peer group multiple, and general adjustment suggestion to improve the standard method. Finally, the third part will be a case study, applying on the recommendation and suggestion developed previously. The aim of this last part is to test our recommendations and develop a practical guide for potential other practitioners. |
