Résumé : |
This Seminar Paper provides an analysis and evaluation of the potential future use of electric vehicles (E-Trucks, E-vans, SEV and E-bikes) in the last mile delivery in urban areas in France. With the help of similar experience in Europe and the literature available, I tried to figure out what are the potential prospects of the development of E-vehicles on the last kilometre in France, and what impact it would have on the local and global economy as well as its environmental impact. Urban freight is a big issue in french urban areas because of all the nuisance it produces: local and global pollution, congestion, noise pollution and public health issues and this paper aims at understanding if using EV can help fixing some of this problems, especially the ones linked to the environment and carbon footprint, with the same logistical performance as before. This paper aims at comparing electric vehicles with the oil-fuelled vehicles already in use, in term of logistical performance, carbon footprint and includes a detailed analysis of the cost of ownership of both electric and diesel vehicles. Subjects like governmental subsidization, battery swapping, or battery recycling are also considered |
