Taxes are present in each state around the world, they could take many form nevertheless, taxation is in many case based on wealth. Taxes impact the life of each of us and it is a global subject of concerns both for states and folks.
In the economical thoughts the question has been largely discussed mainly with the libertarians who reject the idea of any taxation. On the other side the Keynesian who see in the taxation a social and economic tool. Even if wealth taxation has been largely discussed in the past many ideas and opinion still diverge. Is the taxation improving taxes evasion? Is the taxation reducing inequalities? All the answers to these question are not always the one we think.
Taxation is a useful to control the economy by limiting negative externalities, as by limiting inequalities or even by improving the state’s strength. However our wealth taxation system is not perfect and the way of implementing it, could heavily impact our society and our economy.
The purpose of this essay is to give first, a global and practical vision of wealth taxes thanks to a short economic thought review and some hypothesis. In a second time, we will try to propose some ideas in order to build a better wealth taxation system.
