Résumé : |
The aim of this work is to highlight the relationship between the secondary costs of a hotel and its performance. We propose to study the different impacts that secondary cost reduction strategies can have on hotel performance. In this paper, we seek to a better understanding of how a hotel can improve its performance by reducing certain extras that are not always profitable. We will report on the results of a survey we conducted to identify the most attractive secondary investments and those that add little value. On the other hand, I will put into perspective the advantages and disadvantages of a cost reduction policy while showing the benefits and limits of such a strategy. We will have the opportunity to compare the secondary costs that have become indispensable, for clients who go to an establishment with very specific expectations, with the negligible costs that are not always necessary. The objective is to be able to propose alternative strategies to reduce secondary costs to improve the performance of a hotel. We will see how the reduction of secondary costs is a necessary element for a hotel's progression while allowing a good balance of the percentages of the performance indicators. On the other hand, it will be discussed that secondary costs are not the only elements to be considered for a hotel's results or rents. Consideration for the development of hotels, and the satisfaction of its clientele, has led to a re-evaluation of a company's interests. This brief will contrast the most important extras from the public's perspective. The overriding aim is to understand the various factors that impact on the hotel business: how do secondary costs influence hotel performance? We will also explain why it is important to consider other growth drivers to help develop a business. |
