Rural delivery, especially in remote areas, comes with a lot of issues and challenges, but it has not raised as much interest as urban delivery. Yet, rural areas still account for at least 3.4 billion people and therefore represent significant opportunities of niche markets. Delivering in such places is more challenging than in any urban places as there are some geographical and demographical specificities that result in significant last-mile costs and many obstacles to settle a proper delivery system. In my dissertation I will wonder how to bring decent delivery services to people living in such areas. Therefore, I will try and answer the following question: how to improve delivery in French rural places? This question will hopefully be answered through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data that I will consider in the light of the current scientific literature on this topic. |
