Résumé : |
Cultural norms correspond to the shared, sanctioned and integrated beliefs and practices of a given group. They can be defined at different levels such as national or organizational. The organizational culture refers to shared values and beliefs enabling members to understand their roles and norms in the organization (observed behavioral regularities, common language, terminology rituals). Besides mergers and acquisitions is an option for companies which want to develop their business and their influence on the market. At the same time, it is a good opportunity for employees to share best practices and knowledge with new colleagues, to improve productivity and to do economies of scale. However, a merger and acquisition is not only an economical operation. It means a lot of changes for employees. The big challenge for companies is to implement a shared organizational culture and to integrate all employees in the new organization. There are some key practices to succeed the implementation and to develop a common mindset such as draw and follow a clear list of objectives, communicate regularly about the change and its consequences, involve employees in the process and offer help and support to employees in a safe and respectful work environment. |
