Recently, Last-Mile delivery had a huge impact due to pandemic situations. Presently, there is rapid growth of e-commerce around the globe. In India, the overall e-commerce has increased around 36% of last year. Thus, implementation of advanced technologies can impact the ongoing methods of last mile.
New technologies have the tendency to enhance last-mile delivery, perhaps leading to an altogether new transportation method and commercial delivery models.
Nowadays in India there are focusing on Local distribution centres setup, which will be useful for the local retailers to deliver to the local customers. To meet the problems of city last-mile fulfilment, businesses may explore monetization strategies that excel in areas such as cost-effectiveness, service quality, and sustainability. Furthermore, while a variety of articles explore possibilities in last-mile, metropolitan last mile distribution techniques targeted specifically to developing economies were sometimes covered in the existing ecommerce supply chain and city logistics literature.
Thus, this paper aims to determine whether the last-mile delivery in India is adaptable, and the research will also include the insights of the logistics team as well as R&D team, regarding the advanced technology delivery. |
