The whole entrepreneurial ecosystem lack of diversity and white-male-led projects are favored at the expense of women-led startups and even more when the projects are led by people of color. In order to establish themselves they need alternatives that value and finance them, and crowdfunding platforms could appears as a solution to fill this gap. Can crowdfunding be an ally in the quest for entrepreneurial gender equality ? How the crowdfunding can improve the access to financing for entrepreneurial women ? Is crowdfunding the solution for women empowerment from the traditional entrepreneurial ecosystem ? The main goal of my research is to analyze the access to financing of women entrepreneurs for their projects through crowdfunding campaigns while taking into account the reflections underlying their decisions, how they succeed at it, and see how this can be emancipating for them. My study will mostly focus on the situation in France but I will also consider other examples in the rest of the world. For that, I will firstly present through a literature review the use of crowdfunding among entrepreneurs with a focus on women entrepreneurs, and its necessity for the development of women entrepreneurial projects. |
