The topic of the dissertation is remote work. Many companies have allowed some of their employees to work from home for a long time, and some early research has been done on the topic. But it was not until the outburst of covid-19 that the big change happened and most of us were forced to start working from home.Most people agree that we will not go back to work fulltime in an office again. The change is here to stay. so it is important to learn as much as possible about what it means to work from home. The objective of this study is to help managers navigate this relatively new work environment, adjust their management style and create new processes based on the findings. Two surveys were sent out to two different groups; employees and managers. The purpose was to understand the opinions of the two groups in terms of frequency, issues, advantages, and other preferences. The results showed that most people prefer a hybrid version where they work from home but can come to the office when they want to. Some of the main issues with this include loneliness for employees and observation difficulties for managers, but the advantages include higher productivity and motivation as well as an improved work-life balance. |
