Résumé : |
I did an internship at Carrefour as a manager of Carrefour Food Magazine, a magazine focused on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approaches of the group. I was very interested in the different actions undertaken by food retailers to respond to environmental issues. That is why this study proposes an analysis of the environmental impact of food distributors in France on food waste and the different measures that have been put in place to address this issue. Indeed, as food distributors face many environmental, societal and economic challenges, they had to implement a sustainable marketing strategy as well as concrete actions to respond to these challenges by relying on an external legislative framework and an internal strategic framework. The objective of this essay is to demonstrate how and why the major actors of the French food retail industry manage to evolve towards more sustainability and to limit food waste. This study also demonstrates the positive impacts of the implementation of these actions on the company, the society, the environment and the consumers. |
