Résumé : |
The last two decades have been marked by food crises and scandals throughout Europe and the world, unfortunately similar to each other. The agri-food sector is facing major challenges and the question of food safety is omnipresent. Far from the impression of hygiene created by the over-packaged food in the shelves of our supermarkets, they highlight above all the behavior of the actors of the agro-industry: to produce at lower cost. But given the repetition, it is not an industrialist who counts, but the generalized and not very transparent economic model in which the pursuit of profit justifies the nonsense. In the end, society pays and consumer confidence collapses. The crises of 2007-2008, the Covid-19 crisis, the current crisis of 2022 leading to the increase of food prices on the international market, especially for wheat, rice, soy and corn, only increase the number of undernourished people bringing the fight against hunger to the forefront of international concerns. |
