The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most challenging crises the world has faced. It has impacted many economies, organizations, and individuals. This dissertation report represents an individual study or research to shed light on the impact of the pandemic on the training and development of employees from the perspective of the multinational enterprises based in different countries. Knowing the spread of the activities and the interruption of the development and the training of employees, this research findings sketch a clear picture of stagnation of training and development activities in different multinational enterprises. Yet, other companies and organizations demonstrated the opposite by improvising and
innovating new modalities and methodologies. Besides the unexpected impact, some companies were able to elaborate good new practices and innovative solutions to mitigate the impact of the pandemic. Training and development of employees were facing increasing challenges even before the COVI?19 in meeting the fast changes demand of labor markets. Since the pandemic arrived, it has placed an urgent demand of developing and acquiring new skills and more competencies. They need it not only to excel and enhance their performance, but also to be more qualified for other positions. Knowing that COVID-19 impacted many positions that were deleted. So, to enhance the agility and to deal with the challenges and changes caused by the pandemic, organizations and enterprises have the responsibility to ensure a continuous training and development and to focus on the effectiveness of development programs. This pandemic pushed and called for the engagement and the partnership between the employers and employees and all levels. The investment of the company is showed on its employees’ engagement, performance, and development. In this paper, both employees and managers perspectives were compared to assess to what extent they were impacted. |
