Résumé : |
Business associations can generate a multitude of benefits for small and medium enterprises in general. However, there is a lack of investigation into the relationship between SMEs and business associations in terms of advocacy assistance from associations given to SMEs to assist them in overcoming the problems associated with state-owned firms. As a result, this study examines the many contributions provided by business organizations to small and medium enterprises from the viewpoints of themselves in order to unpack the interaction between SMEs and business associations in terms of advocacy assistance. This article is based on a manufacturing industry sample of approximately 2600 Vietnamese SMEs collected in 10 provinces of Vietnam in June, July, and August of 2015. For this database, the survey approach was utilized to collect data in closed-ended questionnaire form, with interviews with company owners/managers in person to reduce potential measurement error and increase the reliability of interviewee replies. According to the study, the membership fees charged to SMEs in the business association are not directly connected to the benefit of SMEs. Instead, private enterprises effectively overcame their fundamental development obstacles through the benefits received mostly from advocacy assistance from associations. |
