Résumé : |
Greenwashing is a big issue in the energy industry, especially in a moment when all efforts are turned to have greener economies. By his numerous forms and his unclear definition, it is difficult to identify it and then fight against it.Even if we have tools to identify, it is extremely difficult to judge of the good faith of a company, as
most of the time we don't have all information, because of lack of clear regulations and frameworks, nationally and internationally. What is at stake today is to find a clear definition of this phenomenon in order to recognize it in an easier way to punish it. Efforts are being made to fight against it; At national level, the France’s government have put in place a law (the loi Grenelle II) to require ESG reporting for non-listed companies, large French companies (those with more than 500 employees) and French subsidiaries of foreign companies. At an international, one of the objectives of the European commission is develop norms and labels based on the green European taxonomy (published in 2021) such as the European Green Bond Standard. |
