The aim of this dissertation is to analyze how the Social and Solidary Economy (SSE) can participate in the revitalization of rural territories in France. This issue is addressed by analyzing the existing literature on the themes of SSE and rurality in France. In a second time, a focus is done on a specific rural territory: the Vosges department (88), located in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region. Qualitative data has been collected through eight interviews in order to try to understand the dynamics of the SSE in the Vosges, what is its impact and the existing limits to its development. The players interviewed are part of associations, have developed links with the Vosges local authorities,
are social enterprise or are linked to the field of integration through economic activity (IAE), such as welfare-to-work programme or adapted companies. |
