TIC ; ETHIQUERésumé : This book focuses on how firms should engage ethical choices in developing and deploying digital technologies. Digital technologies are devices that rely on rapidly accelerating digital sensing, storage, and transmission capabilities to intervene in human processes. While the ethics of technology is analyzed across disciplines from science and technology studies (STS), engineering, computer science, critical management studies, and law, less attention is paid to the role that firms and managers play in the design, development, and dissemination of technology across communities and within their firm. This book covers the topic from three angles. First, it illuminates diverse facets of the intersection of technology and business ethics. Second, it uses themes to explore what business ethics offers to the study of technology and, third, what technology studies offers to the field of business ethics. Each field brings expertise that, together, improves our understanding of the ethical implications of technology. Chapter "A Micro-ethnographic Study of Big Data-Based Innovation in the Financial Services Sector: Governance, Ethics and Organisational Practices", chapter "The Challenges of Algorithm-Based HR Decision-Making for Personal Integrity" and chapter "Female CEOs and Core Earnings Quality: New Evidence on the Ethics Versus Risk-Aversion Puzzle" are available open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license via link.springer.com. Titre : Lean Management : Introduction and in-Depth Study of Japanese Management Philosophy Type de document : e-book Auteurs : Frank BERTAGNOLLI Editeur : Springer Année de publication : 2022 Importance : 446 p. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-3-658-36087-0 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Management
GESTION DE LA PRODUCTIONRésumé : This book shows the basics, methods and principles of lean process design in production as well as in other areas such as development, engineering and administration. In addition, it serves as a reference work for practical use. Questions have been developed for each topic area for process analysis. These can be used for self-reflection and benchmarking. Numerous examples, a continuous fictitious industry case as well as learning objectives and exercises with solutions for each chapter supplement the explanations and enable optimal exam preparation. This book is a translation of the original German 2nd edition Lean Management by Frank Bertagnolli, published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2020. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation. Springer Nature works continuously to further the development of tools for the production of books and on the related technologies to support the authors. Titre : An Introduction to Statistical Learning : With Applications in R Type de document : e-book Mention d'édition : 2d ed. Editeur : Springer Année de publication : 2021 Importance : 616 p. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-07-161418-1 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Management
STATISTIQUERésumé : An Introduction to Statistical Learning provides an accessible overview of the field of statistical learning, an essential toolset for making sense of the vast and complex data sets that have emerged in fields ranging from biology to finance to marketing to astrophysics in the past twenty years. This book presents some of the most important modeling and prediction techniques, along with relevant applications. Topics include linear regression, classification, resampling methods, shrinkage approaches, tree-based methods, support vector machines, clustering, deep learning, survival analysis, multiple testing, and more. Color graphics and real-world examples are used to illustrate the methods presented. Since the goal of this textbook is to facilitate the use of these statistical learning techniques by practitioners in science, industry, and other fields, each chapter contains a tutorial on implementing the analyses and methods presented in R, an extremely popular open source statistical software platform. Two of the authors co-wrote The Elements of Statistical Learning (Hastie, Tibshirani and Friedman, 2nd edition 2009), a popular reference book for statistics and machine learning researchers. An Introduction to Statistical Learning covers many of the same topics, but at a level accessible to a much broader audience. This book is targeted at statisticians and non-statisticians alike who wish to use cutting-edge statistical learning techniques to analyze their data. The text assumes only a previous course in linear regression and no knowledge of matrix algebra. This Second Edition features new chapters on deep learning, survival analysis, and multiple testing, as well as expanded treatments of naïve Bayes, generalized linear models, Bayesian additive regression trees, and matrix completion. R code has been updated throughout to ensure compatibility.
