Index. décimale : E-book Résumé : The book is a critical review of accountability conducted under the authority of the United Nations Security Council, by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), and the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET). It is centred on two case studies: the 1999 events in Rwanda, which constituted genocide, "the crime of crimes", and the 1999 mayhem in East Timor. The books subjects to testing cross-examination tools to hold accountable persons with "the greatest responsibility" for serious international humanitarian law violations. A detailed expose is made of conspiracy to commit genocide. Comparison is also made whether joint criminal enterprise, and the forms of co-perpetration embodied in the Statute of the International Criminal Court provide effective alternatives in the case of atrocity crimes. A unique aspect of the book is its high-light of lessons learn in prosecution strategies; approaches in profiling perpetrators, particularly those with the highest level of responsibility for international humanitarian law violations; victor?s justice; superior responsibility; guilty pleas, and the effectiveness of the East Timor and the Indonesian Ad Hoc Human Rights Court processes. In the final analysis, the book offers a Matrix on Accountability Note de contenu : Introduction -- Rwanda and Timor: Pattern of Violence -- Accountability Arrangements: Rwanda -- Accountability Arrangements: East Timor -- Profiling Perpetrators -- Conspiracy to commit Genocide -- Superior Responsibility -- Guilt Pleas -- Conclusion Nombre d'accès : Illimité En ligne : http://library.ez.neoma-bs.fr/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/3-540-28885-6 Permalink : Accounting and financial analysis in the hospitality industry / Jonathan A. FINANCE INTERNATIONALE ; BANQUE ; ECONOMIE INTERNATIONALE
Index. décimale : E-book Résumé : Much has been written about the economic and political problems of countries that are in the process of changing from centrally planned systems to market systems. Most studies have focused on the economic, legal, political and sociological problems these economies have had to face during the transition period. However, not much has been written about the dramatic changes that have to be made to the accounting and financial system of a transition economy. This book was written to help fill that gap. Using Russia as a case study the authors examined all the major aspects of accounting reform, starting with problems of implementation. They also examined the current state of auditing in Russia. Other studies looked at the changes in accounting education that are sweeping through Russian universities and the private sector and how international accounting certification is being used to meet the demand for credible accounting practitioners. They also devote chapters to corporate governance issues, the Russian tax system and the problems Russian enterprises face when they try to attract foreign direct investment. "Accounting and Financial System Reform in a Transition Economy: A Case Study of Russia" is the first in a series on accounting and financial system reform in transition and developing economies. Other volumes will examine accounting and financial system reform in Eastern Europe and Asia and the changes to the taxation and public finance systems these countries are going through in their transition to market economies Nombre d'accès : Illimité En ligne : http://library.ez.neoma-bs.fr/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/b103316 Permalink : Accounting, the social and the political / ELSEVIER (2005)

ETHIQUE ; ETHIQUE PROFESSIONNELLE ; BANQUE ; FINANCE DE MARCHE
Index. décimale : E-book Résumé : Jacques Cory's second book Activist Business Ethics expands upon the theoretical concepts developed in his first book Business Ethics: The Ethical Revolution of Minority Shareholders published by Kluwer Academic Publishers in March 2001. Activist business ethics is needed in order to remedy the wrongdoing committed to stakeholders and minority shareholders. This will be achieved by cooperation between ethical businessmen, activist academics, stakeholders and minority shareholders. We should treat others as we would want others to treat us, not through interest, but by conviction. Yet this principle is not the guideline of many companies in the modern business world, despite the fact that most religions and philosophers have advocated it in the last 3,000 years. How can we convince or compel modern business to apply this principle? And is it essential to the success of economy? In order to answer these questions this book examines the evolution of activist business ethics in business, in democracies, in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, in philosophy and psychology. The book examines international aspects, the personification of stakeholders, the predominance of values and ethics for CEOs and the inefficient safeguards of the stakeholders' interests. The book presents new vehicles for the safeguard of those interests, such as the Internet, Transparency, Ethical Funds and Activist Associations, and future activist vehicles, such as the Supervision Board and the Institute of Ethics. Today everybody is a stakeholder and a minority shareholder of a company, directly or through our pension funds, or as a client, a supplier, a member of a community and a citizen. The principal premise of the book is, therefore, that ultimately the wrongdoers act against themselves. The book is woven with many references on ethics and business ethics from the professional and classic world literature, the Bible and other religious texts, poetry, maxims, and folk tales; showing that ethical problems are similar throughout the ages and cultures, but some of the solutions given in this book are new and original. Activist Business Ethics is primarily intended for the academic market and is particularly appropriate for academics in business administration, ethics and finance. It should also appeal strongly to the professional business/finance market, and to stakeholders and minority shareholders as well, who are aware of the wrongdoing committed to them and who want to remedy the situation by activist conduct Nombre d'accès : Illimité En ligne : http://library.ez.neoma-bs.fr/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/b99874 Permalink : Activity and Sign / Michael H.G HOFFMANN / New York, NY : SPRINGER (2005)PermalinkAdvanced Planning in Fresh Food Industries / Matthias Lütke ENTRUP / New York, NY : SPRINGER (2005)PermalinkAdvances in Natural Multimodal Dialogue Systems / Jan C.
